Bilal Karaman
Bilal Karaman ( March 14, 1981) / Turkish jazz guitarist and composer. Started playing guitar at 11. Respectively, he has been interested in rock, flamenco and jazz guitar. At 19 he was admitted to Istanbul Bilgi University where his jazz studies took centre stage.Received grand prize at Istanbul based Nardis Jazz guitar competition in September, 2009.In June 3, 2011, released his debut album Bahane that received positive reviews from respectable publications such as Guitar Player 2012 September issue. He had played with renown musicians including Marcus Miller and Lars Danielsson at the 19th Istanbul Jazz Festival. Second album titled Patika was released in February 12, 2013. Played with Dianne Reeves, Zakir Hussain, at the globally celebrated international Jazz day 2013. November 3, 2014 released Hayyam Sessions Vol:1 with drummer Jarrod Cagwin.Performed his originals in more than 20 countries such as England, South Korea, Netherlands, United States, Ukraine, Lithuania, Georgia, Cameroon, Kenya. In October 11, 2017 at the London Jazz Festival, played with his Trio at Barbican Centre. His latest album, which pays a tribute to Django Reinhardt titled Manouche a La Turca, is released on January 25, 2018. Manouche a La Turca II will be released on Autumn.
